2014 ICWA Start-up Xchange: Part 2

Then join us for the second in our series of four free start-up workshops!

In conjunction with four WA universities, the Innovation Centre of WA is hosting a series of Start-Up Xchange workshops in the first half of 2014.  The second of these workshops will focus on “Start-Up Marketing” and will be held at the ECU Mt Lawley Campus.  This is a joint collaboration between the ECU School of Business and the Innovation Centre of WA.

Date:       2 April 2014

Time:       5.00pm registrations, for a 5.15pm start.

Presentations will be followed by an opportunity to network.

The event will conclude at 7.00pm

Our Presenters:

Dr Helen Cripps

Dr Helen Cripps is a Lecturer in the School of Business in the Faculty of Business and Law. Helen is a Member of the Faculty’s Centre for Innovative Practice and works extensively with students looking to bring their ideas to market.  She has extensive industry and government experience covering relationship marketing, economic analysis, community partnerships and event management.

Adam Osseiran

Adam Osseiran is Associate Professor at the School of Engineering of Edith Cowan University and Co-Founder and Director of EMAPS an innovative and groundbreaking Environmental Monitoring and Protection Solution. Over the last 6 years he has developed the concept of a smart device for early warning of hazard which has lead to 2 patents and the creation of 2 start-up ventures. Adam is also the president of the Inventors Association of WA.

Dr Sue Bahn

Dr Susanne Bahn is a Senior Lecturer in the Centre for Innovative Practice, School of Buisiness at Edith Cowan University.  Her interests lie in the OH&S practice and processes, risk management, middle management change processes and vocational educational training.  Her current research investigates risk blindness and strategies to foster improved risk awareness for workers in hazardous environments.  Sue is in the proecess of commercialising an innovative training tool delivered on a tablet that teaches and tests risk awareness. She has also published extensively about health and safety process and practices focusing on organisational and management issues and responsibilities.

Michelle Milton, Founder and Editor, High Tea Society & Co-Founder, Social Media Perth

Michelle Milton is a marketing communications consultant and entrepreneur with a passion for digital media.  She is the Founder and Editor of High Tea Society; a website and social media community about high tea, as well as the Co-Founder of Social Media Perth #SMPerth. Brands that have advertised or sponsored High Tea Society include: Universal Sony Pictures Home Entertainment (Downton Abbey campaign), Twinings, KitchenAid, Myer Mural Hall, Wedgwood, Sydney Opera House, Virgin Atlantic, Sofitel Hotels, Hyatt Hotels, Westin Hotels, Green & Blacks Chocolate and Breville.
